Links for Viewing Crown

Greetings Atlantia!

Our fair kingdom has an amazing, innovative, and highly skilled team working to bring the kingdom a livestream of portions of the Crown Tournament event this Saturday, May 1, 2021! We would like to give you an idea of what to expect – assuming the internet access at Elchenburg Castle works as expected. We intend to provide the following publicly available resources:

1) A live stream on YouTube of at least the semifinals, finals, and coronation of the new Heirs.

2) A separate live stream on a second YouTube channel displaying the Tournament Tree of Heraldic Shields for each combatant. This tree is a product of coordination between the IT team, the Kingdom Heralds, and the MOLs onsite. The tree will be updated throughout the tournament so the populace can keep track of the tournament’s progress.

3) A live stream on YouTube of their Majesties’ Royal Court at 4:00pm.

4) After the event has concluded and the team has had a chance to catch our collective breaths, we intend to release a high-quality video to YouTube with footage of the full tournament, the crowning of the Heirs, and Their Majesties’ court. It may take a week or so to pull the footage together, so bear with us.

ALL LINKS for the events on May 1 are now published on https://virtual.atlantia.sca.org/

Schedule:

1) The tournament is scheduled to begin at 12:00noon. We cannot predict how long it will take to get to the semi-finals, so keep an eye on Facebook and the Merry Rose email list as the day progresses for announcements regarding when the live stream will begin.

2) The tournament Heraldic Tree live stream is scheduled to begin at 12:00noon

3) The Royal Court livestream is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm.

Please be prepared to be flexible regarding the schedule. We will provide updates here on FB and Merry Rose email list.

*A video “Procession” of the combatants and consorts will premiere on YouTube at 11:00am on Saturday, May 1.

Finally, we’d  like to ask for your understanding, patience, and flexibility. This is a brand new, unique activity, never before attempted, and there will undoubtedly be hiccups along the way.

We will provide updates on the day of the event via normal channels: Atlantia FB group and Merry Rose email list. Baroness Sophia the Orange (Lara Coutinho on FB) will serve as the virtual voice of the team on the day of, so please refrain from posting comments or questions to the Kingdom Webminister if things are not working as expected.

Please feel free to post your questions here on the Atlantia FB group or Merry Rose email list and we will respond as quickly and accurately as possible. We will also be keeping an eye on the YouTube comments in the various livestreams.

2021 Crown Tourney Message

Greetings to the Kingdom from Duchess Simone,

As you heard from their Majesties in court, Atlantia will be holding Crown Tourney on May 1, 2021. We presented a detailed request to the Society Seneschal, and a variance has been approved. Crown Tourney will be small. It will be limited to the Their Majesties, the Combatants, the Consorts, and a skeleton staff. Crown Tourney will be held at Elchenburg Castle.

Elchenburg will not be open to the public, and will allow us to host the event with safe social distancing. Their Majesties and Sir Joscelin will handle the martial aspects of the event, and Duke Christoph will be the event manager. Letters of Intent were required by December 31, 2020 to allow for sufficient planning time, as such we know the maximum number of consorts and combatants.

This does not mean that the Kingdom or the SCA nationwide is open to other events, we are still under the strict restrictions due to the pandemic. More information will be released soon regarding Crown Tourney and Coronation.
